I have been cycling for fitness for several years with an eye towards long rides. Just couldn't get into competing here. Then I found triathlons. Training is so much more fun. I completed 2 sprint Duathlon's in 2008. Was planning on doing one Tri but just couldn't get the swim together. My plan for 2009 is to do several Olympic distances races and a marathon in the fall. Half-IM at Disney in 2010. My swim is picking up and for the first time in my life I'm doing pretty good at the run (I don't need medical attention after each run).
