Trifuel (me a.k.a. tribro) has arrived in Kona, Hawaii for the Ironman 2006 World Championships. Just here as a spectator, not a participant — someday.
My brother Chris is racing and the family gets together each year here in Kona to show our support. I promised several of you I'd try to post pictures and info while on site. So that's what I'll be doing this week. A little reprieve from the training articles to bring some insight into the Island during this big week before the race.
I missed the last couple days as I was delayed a bit by bad weather and some flight back-ups due to the Earthquake. The race is on despite the earthquake on Sunday and the aftershocks yesterday. I drove up the Queen K this morning and there was some debris on the road from fallen rocks, but the Department of Transporation was out there cleaning things up. The weather is great today, warm and humid, but clear skies.
So, the Kona 2006 section is now open and further posts will be pics and other information I find about the race. Hope you enjoy the info.
