ON Cloud Racers- Review

I have been in the market for a new running shoe for a while. I liked Saucony's Kinvara line except that, as a supinator, the outside of the soles wore out faster than the rest, aggravating the problem; something they refused to address. Scrap that. Tried Brooks’ Pureflow 2s next, which I’ve been pretty happy with, but was still looking…and I hate changing shoes.

Anyway, stumbled on ON’s Cloud series and did some research, which consisted mainly or reading other’s reviews of them, and pulled the trigger on a pair.

Somali runners feel safest in years

It has been almost two weeks since Al Shabab rebels killed at least 35 people in a Mogadishu courthouse, forcing the question of whether security in Somalia is improving as rapidly as previously believed.

As politicians, foreign agencies and other usual targets for Al Shabab brace themselves for potential future attacks, at least one of these groups -members of the Somali National Team- said they feel just as safe now as they did two weeks ago.

Keith Levasseur ran Saturday's Baltimore Marathon in 2:46:58 while wearing flip flops. Levasseur will file paperwork with the Guinness Book of World Records to have the feat acknowledged as a world record for a marathon in flip flops.

Marathon training? Is it possible?

I just finished running a half marathon and am thinking about next season training for a full marathon but there could be a few road blocks for someone like me. I need some advice based on my experience/training etc.

Injured Knee, could the reason be...

I recently transitioned into minimalist running after i got a pair of NB Minimus (approx 2 mos ago) and I haven't gone back to my regular shoes (new balance 690) for running/working out at all since then. Well, yesterday, i don't know why, i used my old shoes i used to use. Sure enough, a half mile into my run, i felt a sharp pain shoot up my knee. I finished the 1 1/2 miles and pushed through the pain but this morning, not even a quarter mile into my run, my knee just gave out. I went home and iced it and stretched it and after my wife examined it, i also have a pulled groin muscle.

Weird shoulder pain while running

So every once in a while, I get this odd shoulder pain in my right shoulder when I'm running. It's not every time but when it does happen, it usually forces me to stop. I usually run between 3-4 miles whenever i do run and lately i've been practicing more forefoot landing and relaxing while I run. I have injured my shoulder in the past during weight training and every once in awhile it does get aggravated. I'm just confused as to why it comes up when i'm running and if there is any way I can prevent it?

Marathon training advice

I recently ran san Diego rock and roll marathon on Sunday . Training was good, injury free. I followed Hal higdon intermediate advanced plan. Set out at a 6:52 pace to run a 3:00 marathon. I found a group and we were spot on every split until mile 16. Everyone's been there. The group slowly drifted away and I mumbled every curse word I knew under my breath. There was no more speed left in my legs. Im 30 y/old and this was my 11th marathon. I should know what I'm doing out the by now, guess not . PR: Boston 2011 3:09:20 .
