Deer Creek Oly Tri RR

Short version:

First race of season for me: Deer Creek Oly Dist Tri in Mt. Sterling, OH (Southwest/South Central Ohio). It rained hard race morning...slight rain delay, but then was partly cloudy for the race. Rain brought wind with it, and chop to the swim.

New PR's on all 3 legs from last year (previous PR at the distance)...
Swim: 25:10 (3 minute improvement)
Bike: 1:04:44 (5th OA)

[b]Pre race[/b]

This was my first Olympic distance triathlon. Going into it I was feeling a bit anxious. I felt under trained - could have done a better job handling some work stress / life balance, but there you go.

Anyhow, drove out the next before and stayed in a hotel. Drove the bike course, found the park. All set.

Race Report - Thunder in the Valley

This event is in Terre Haute, IN and is largely the first open water swim tri of the season in Indiana. It is a 800m swim, 40k bike, and 8k run. This was my 2nd tri ever.

2 New Olympic Distance Triathlons in California

For all you guys in the Bay area or nearby...

Two new Olympic distance triathlons in the San Francisco bay area have been added to the 2008 California triathlon race schedule. The races will mark both ends of the racing season with one triathlon at the beginning of the season and the other at the end of race season. Both triathlons will consist of a 1.5km Swim, 40km Bike, 10km Run course.
