Resistance Pool Training?

I'm pretty new to all this. I'm building my training up pretty well but swimming is my weak spot so I really need to concentrate on this. I need tips for my training, I've got access to one of these kind of pools http://www.endlesspools.com/inground-pools.php. Would this help? I figured it would cut down the time I lose on turns. Has anyone used one for training?

Swimming During High and Low Tide

I have two or three tri's I might enter this year that have point to point swims. Two are in channels. I was looking at the tide charts and one of them has high tide starting 6 hours before the race and low tide starting just after the swim begins. Does that mean I would be swimming with very little current. Thanks!

Swimming fitness in the off season

I am just curious how difficult it is to pick up your swimming fitness in the spring if you take the Fall/winter off completely. I only do sprints 400m to 750m would be my swim distance range. I am thinking of dropping the swim out of my training because it requires driving to a pool and paying a membership just to swim at a pool. I don't know if it is really worth the time and $.

Wetsuit repairs?

Does anyone know how to go about getting a wetsuit repaired. I have an IM blueseventy wetsuit that I bought 5 years ago and at the time when I bought it they told me if I ever had a tear I could bring it back in and they would repair it for me. When I brought it back to the store last weekend, I found out they had changed ownership so I was out of luck. It is just a small rip under one of the arms and I was hoping I could get it patched so it doesn't get worse. Any suggestions as to what I should do?

Thanks.

Technique vs speed

Hi everyone,

What are some good entry level swim workouts??

Hey All,

New to the whole tri scene, hense the name.

I just did a pool workout for the first time in about 12 years. Swim around 400m with some small breaks in between. I am looking for something a little more structured.

Wetsuit Temps

I am racing in a local tri on the 4th. I don't believe it is a US Tri event and I think wetsuits are allowed. It has been very hot and water temps are pretty warm. I have a full QR wetsuit and am not the strongest swimmer. The wetsuit helps me a fair amount. The swim is 1/2 mile. How warm is too warm to swim in the wetsuit? I don't want to get over-heated, but I also don't want to swim without it if I don't have to. Any thoughts?

Lats freak out after long swims?

The same thing happened last year, and now that I'm building volume it's started again. Whenever I do a long-ish swim (as in more than one mile without stopping) almost as soon as I stop, my lats start to cramp. If I try to reach up to take off my swim cap/goggles, they completely freak out and go into all kinds of spasms. They spasm for the next couple hours and then I'm fine, no lasting soreness or anything.
