This will be my 2nd full season of racing in triathlons. Last year I raced in 8 triathlons, 6 sprint, 2 oly. I started racing three years ago, but started in September of 08 and only raced in 2 races. At the end of that year, I thought I was missing something, to me I needed more strength, not bulk, but just overall strength.

Water Resistant running shoes

Is there such a thing?
I will be running in fairly wet and cold conditions for a few months this winter and was wondering if anyone came across water resistant running shoes that still have some ventilation.

I am relatively new to triathlon, came from play lacrosse and football. I began training for Ironman Coeur d' alene five months ago using an online training guide. I have progressed to the point where I can swim around 3,500 yards, Bike up to 70-80 miles and run 13-14 miles. I know this might sound ridiculous but is this good so far after five months of training with 7 months to go till IMCD?
Speed work and weight training

I'm starting to think about my goals for 2010 and decided speed is a priority. Can anyone speak to the value of weight training to become a faster runner? Suggestions on the quickest way to get fast would be great. Lofty goal of going from a 4:10 marathon to a sub 3:10 marathon by say, sept/Oct of 2010.
