American TTT - Ohio

Hope to fill in more of my experience later, but I wanted to get another race report out there on this event. It's been on my bucket list for 6 years, even before an IM was on the list.

Race 1:
Even after knowing the distances, Friday's race went by much faster than I expected. 250m Swim, 6k Bike, 1 Mile Run.

Boston Marathon

I can’t write about the race report without mention the inexplicable attack to liberty and happiness. It goes beyond comprehensible the time that I lived that afternoon. BM will be remembered for the wrong reasons. For now it is time to move on, cherish the best of it and like a pro-triathlete say: to health, happiness and going fast. I approached BM with caution. I had planned 18 weeks for training giving 2 weeks for injury recovery, cold, illness etc. So about the middle of the plan I used them up to recover from a hamstring injury.

Morro Bay Oly

For my last event of the year I choose Morro Bay Triathlon. Good excuse to get out of the mountains for a week and get some racing at sea level in. Arrived early in the week to get some rides in, just my luck it decided to rain that first day out. I also got a flat so not the best preride outing but, was feeling strong and finding delicious eats at the local framers market was a bonus! Having visions of personal best now, if that back ache that had been following me all week would just go away I would be set.

A Snail in Mont Tremblant - My 1st IM

- It's in the books, and I not only survived but it looks as though I thrived. So much build up, anticipation, research and training led to an abundance of caution on my part and I think that's why I found no bears hiding in my pain cave. Fellow Trifueler Jeff Greene did a great job giving a sense of the venue & event, and I don't have lots else to add; apologies if I duplicate anything.
