Power Time (more wheel discussion!)

by GaryTimTim on September 1st, 2009
This winter I want to start training with power, especially to increase the effectiveness of the time spent in the basement on the trainer. My thoughts are to get a PowerTap hub built with a moderate/low-end training wheel.

race wheels for small rider?

by tri_dad_me on June 12th, 2009
Hi everyone -- I am trying to choose some race wheels to go with my 5'1" wife's new-used P2C. She weighs about 105lbs and averages 19-21mph in her bike splits.

My first race wheels

by ChadTM on January 30th, 2009
This is my second season, and I'm planning for a HIM this summer. I would like to get some race wheels so I don't have to pedal as hard. :) A friend claims his 50mm carbon dealies improve his 40k by 3mph, which sounds like an exaggeration. Chad from Arizona www.slidell4life.com

Aluminum Aero Wheels

by rhane on January 26th, 2009
Can anyone recommend a set of training/racing aluminum deep-v clinchers? I was looking at the Soul S4.0 - they look nice, but I don't know about build quality, hubs, etc. Can anyone recommend an aero wheelset that won't break the bank or end up breaking on the road due to flimsiness?

Any STURDY wheel recommendations available?

by KevDaddy on January 4th, 2009
Hi all, I have now gone through a couple wheels in the 2 years I have been training. I have two challenges: a small budget and a 200 lb frame. With these two limitations, I expect that any wheel that can handle me will be relatively heavy. I can accept this if it means no more spoke popping or wheels veering horribly out of true.

Stock Wheels

by stewarba on September 23rd, 2008
I have been socking some money away for the last two years towards a Tri bike. I was in my LBS this past weekend and low and behold they had one 2008 Cervelo P2C 58cm frame (my size) left on the showroom floor. So to keep the complete bike in my price range, I'm sticking with the ultegra package and my only real concern is with the wheel set. Pain is the sensation of weakness leaving the body!

Tire/Wheel Question

by Socket on March 26th, 2008
Possibly a dumb question, but the recent tire threads had me thinking: what the heck kind of tires do I have on my bike and what if I want a different kind? Do I need a clincher rim to run clinchers and similarly with tubulars? I never see wheels for sale with a tubular vs clincher description, but is there a difference?
