I've been reading a number of articles/forums on sleeves versus non-sleeves. I've also been reading a number of articles/forums on using non-tri-specific wetsuits for races. I just completed my first tri (modified Olympic) with a paddler wetsuit (880yds) and found the shoulders very restrictive. I also find my budget very restrictive.

Wetsuit - to rent or not to rent?

Hi all, I’m participating in my first 70.3 (Ironman Kansas), it will be my second tri. I am considering renting a wetsuit. I’m looking at wetsuitrentals.com. With shipping and active.com’s BS fees it’ll cost a little over 50 bucks. I guess I have three questions/thoughts:

F2R Wetsuits

Has anybody tried F2R's wetsuits? I could only find a handful of reviews and they seem pretty positive. Also appears to have pretty nice deals on rentals as well. ($130 deposit I can handle, $300? not so much)

Hands quickly become worthless in cold water. Help!

Did my first open water practice swim today. Went pretty well overall. Certainly not pleasant, but I'm glad I did it. Better to be uncomfortable in practice than in a race. And I definitely have room for improvement.
