Okay. So I am not a triathlete and am not familiar with tri bikes, however, I have a special someone that I am buying a tri bike for for Christmas. Can someone tell me the basics on what to look for, what he needs in a tri bike and any other info that may be helpful in my purchase. He has been training for about 3 or so years and has been using a regular road bike. He NEEDS a better bike!

UBC REC Triathlon/Duathlon - Early Bird

by UBC REC on November 21st, 2008
We're hosting our annual Triathlon/Duathlon on Sunday March 8, 2009. This event is the first triathlon of the 2009 season and there's an opportunity to save a bit of money if you register before the early bird date... We also have various volunteer positions that cater to all experience levels and would really appreciate any support!

(Remember, I have to lug alon the bike so public transit racks may not be available if others are planning the same).

I BOUGHT THIS TRIATHLON BIKE TO TRAIN FOR AN IRONMAN NEXT YEAR. I'M GIVING UP BECAUSE AFTER SEVERAL SWIM LESSONS I STILL CAN'T SEEM TO SWIM MORE THAN 1 LAP. THIS BIKE HAS ABOUT 600 MILES ON IT AND I'VE HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH IT. I'LL INCLUDE MY FIZIK TRI SADDLE WITH IT. NO PEDALS OR EXTRAS. IT'S A 61CM, I'M 6'4" AND IT FITS ME GREAT, I THINK WOULD FIT SOMEONE 6'1" TO 6"6" PROBABLY. IMFL 2009 www.ironmanadventure.blogspot.com www.TRImapper.com www.TRIjuice.com
