I need some new tires. The last 3 times I've taken mine out on the open road, I've gotten 3 flats. Each time, its been something new I picked up on the road, I swear - I've cleaned out the insides of the tires with extreme care. In each case, its been the slow leak flat that I didn't notice until the tire was flat hours after the ride. I found this link: To tri or not to tri - that's not a question at all!

So while on a ride on Monday my back tire went flat. I took it into a local repair shop to get a new tube put in, one that has the goop (or whatever the green stuff is on the inside to keep it from going flat). They did so. It then rained for a couple of days so my bike sat in the garage and wasn't used. bw
