VO2 Max Testing or Lactate Threshold Testing?

Which one is better to build a training plan? Has anyone done one, the other or both? How often do you need to test? I plan to ask these questions at the local tri shop but, I wanted some past experiences in my hip pocket before I go. Thanks.

Vo2 & RMR

Has anyone got their Vo2 tested for the bike an run? Or had their RMR (resting metabolic rate) tested? I'm interested to see what same sport athlete's put out. Pain is weakness leaving the body http://krazykitkat.blogspot.com/

Speed, distance, power, effort are all part of this big giant triathlon puzzle. Sometimes it takes a simple approach to fit the pieces in the right place. There’s more to getting faster then just overall speed. Aren’t you curious as to the other factors relative to improvement?
