Swimming
Stretchcords
by PIMA on February 17th, 2010
Hi. I'm a 14 minute half mile (about 1:55/100 mts.) tri swimmer. Since sometimes I don't have the ease to go to a pool -much less to open water-, I've been considering dryland training with those famed stretchcords. Problem is, they come by resistance measures. Whith the info in the first sentence, Which one would you recommend to me? Thank you.
Meditation and Triathlon

This will be my 2nd full season of racing in triathlons. Last year I raced in 8 triathlons, 6 sprint, 2 oly. I started racing three years ago, but started in September of 08 and only raced in 2 races. At the end of that year, I thought I was missing something, to me I needed more strength, not bulk, but just overall strength.
Sleeveless versus Full Suit
by The X Runner on January 21st, 2010
What do you folks think? Is there really a big difference (other than personal comfort preference) between the full and sleeveless wetsuit?
The full wetsuits are generally more expensive than the sleeveless. Does the full version have less drag and is it more buoyant -> faster?
And does temperature make a difference on which one to buy?

Help! Please rate my training progression
by JoshSloane on November 9th, 2009
I am relatively new to triathlon, came from play lacrosse and football. I began training for Ironman Coeur d' alene five months ago using an online training guide. I have progressed to the point where I can swim around 3,500 yards, Bike up to 70-80 miles and run 13-14 miles. I know this might sound ridiculous but is this good so far after five months of training with 7 months to go till IMCD?
Foot Cramps During the Swim ?
by nlamphear on October 17th, 2009
I was born in the water, it is my best and favorite leg of the triathlon, and I always relish the ONLY chance I get to look good in a tri by coming out of the water early. However I have a simple, stupid, and debilitating issue while swimming. I can't relax my feet, I keep them pointed (even though I am not kicking) which leads to severe cramps in my arches.
Reasons to not use nose clips for swimming
by spoonybard on October 2nd, 2009
I just started swimming lessons in preparation to do my first triathlon in the spring of 2010 and am having difficulty with water going up my nose. As a kid I had no problems with this and as I got older it has become harder to prevent it.
What’s faster, tri-suit or tri-shorts?
by fitfo on August 14th, 2009
The water temperature is warming up enough where wetsuit's aren't allowed. I’m a decent swimmer and don’t mind going without a wetsui.. I do have some chest/leg hair which the wife doesn’t want me to shave.
What’s faster, a tri-suit or just the tri-shorts?
