8-week sprint training program

by melicharlie on May 23rd, 2009
I've been training on my own for about 5 months now and am confident about completing my first sprint tri in 8 weeks. Given that this is my first time though, I would like to get into a good training rhythm as the event gets closer but I can't find a sprint program that is built for a non-entry level person. Any tips?

Lebanon Oregon Sprint Triathlon

The good news: I used that neck cooler thingie and it worked really well. I stayed cool throughout the run even as the temperature climbed. The very good news: 6:39 swim split. Not too bad for early season! The bad news: slow bike split, I think due to too much commute/tandem biking last week. Quad cramps on the bike, which I've never ever experienced before. Overall: Blue Skies, -Robin- http://ironmom.blogspot.com/

I must say I've been looking forward to writing one of these ever since discovering what they were this summer. My first triathlon was a great experience, yep I'm hooked!

Your weekly training plan.

by TRK80 on February 9th, 2009
I'm new to all the triathlon training since I just started training last month. I'm trying to make a weekly training schedule/plan, and I was just curious what other triathlete are doing. I saw the video about how triathlete trains. He basically wakes up like 4:30 in a morning, go ocean swim, and bike, then weight training, then swim at the pool.

Ameriprise Financial Triathlon Season Opener (Coconut Creek, FL)

This is the first time I did this race but I was told before that it's a well-organized one. I arrived at the park at around 6:00 AM and there already was a good crowd of people and there was plenty of volunteers guiding cars to appropriate parking locations.

First Tri: SheRox-Charlotte, NC

This was my first triathlon. On a whim after hearing about some friends mentioning a training program I decided that for my 30th birthday I wanted to give myself the present of accomplishing what I would consider a pretty substantial goal.

Boston Training

by Amish on August 20th, 2008
Hello all, I am a Tufts University Student, and I just completed my first Triathlon. Naturally, I am not addicted to the sport and am trying to find outlets to train and improve. Are there any triathlon training groups in Boston? if I can't find a group, how do many of you train in the winter months when even the thought of going outside makes you shudder? Anyway, happy racing, Amish

Pinchot Park Sprint

This was my first race of the season, 'C' priority and supposed to be in the middle of a build cycle. I had been experiencing a frequent ache/pain in my left achilles for about two weeks prior to the race, so I didn't run or bike for 5 days before the race. Consequently, I was a little more rested before this race than I had intended but with the injury I was not expecting anything great.
