Calico 50k race report

by kylie on January 30th, 2008
Signing up for Calico was exciting all on its own. I had planned to do my first ultra in December 2005, and had to cancel due to injury. 2006, same race, same injury. 2007 the same race was on my radar, but instead I went for one in January with the whole Arroyo Trail Blazers group that I have been running with. And I’m definitely glad I did! Miles of Life --- Powered by MarkyV

Replacement for the New Balance 991

by kevinholz on January 20th, 2008
I am/was a huge fan of the New Balance 991 running shoe. In a perfect, would New Balance would never have discontinued making the shoe and I could go on buying them forever. However, the shoe was discontinued quite a while ago and now I have to search for a replacement. Can anybody who really liked the 991 recommend a shoe that may be comparable? Thanks!

by transamman1999 on December 27th, 2007
so i'm trying to find some good sunglasses and not having much luck. in the past i've just trained w/ cheap-o Walmart or gas station sunglasses but i'm looking into getting a good pair, preferably polarized, that will be good for long rides as well as running. i was looking at a few different brands: Specialized Helix: http://www.specialized.com/bc/SBCEqProduct.jsp?spid=34227

Hi all, I am running in the inaugural Rose Bowl Half Marathon in Pasadena this Saturday. I am excited about the race as the Arroyo Seco area the race is held in is very pretty and I grew up around here. It is a mix of roads and trails and should be interesting.
