Hip Pain?

by packtrisam on June 27th, 2008
Over the past month, I've crashed on my bike a couple of times. However, after the first crash, I've been noticing some muscle pain in my right hip/glute, which I fell on. I used to have similar pain after long runs (18+ miles), but it would only show up at the end of the run. Now the pain occurs within 200 yards of beginning to run, and is continuous throughout. Need new Heartrate monitor

by runmargierun on June 19th, 2008
I have a simple A5 Polar HRM that is out of warranty. the screen is missing part of the LED so although the unit works I can't read the heartrate. I have an SRM on my bike, so can get heartrate when I bike but not now while I am running.

Got in NY MARATHON

by reidthecat on June 5th, 2008
So I just got into THE NEW YORK MARATHON on my first go at it. This would be my second one , as the first one over flat Miami was a miserable final 6 miles and I was a running pup. Everybody says you have to do NY at least once so here I am with a dilema. I am also signed up for the Miami Man Half Iron the next week.

My butt hurts :)

by Rideinpink on April 26th, 2008
Ive recently upped my mileage (not by that much) while running. Lately, as soon as I begin running, I get a terrible pain just to the right of my tailbone. Pain is the greatest when I strike the ground but is still noticable during the rest of my stride. Stays sore even during my cool down...any suggestions??

Endure Sportswear performance shirts

by Tristan on April 26th, 2008
Any opinion on the Elite shirt by Endure Sportswear? It got some pretty good reviews on the Slowtwitch.com site. As far as performance shirts, I'm using various - have gotten the best results form Mizuno. -Tristan

Biking

by pwnednewbsdaily on April 20th, 2008
I'm pretty new to triathlons; only done two. This summer, however, I'm looking to change that. I'll probably be doing sprint triathlons. I run cross country and track and consider myself pretty decent (currently run 5:10 for the mile, 11:09 for the two mile). I was thinking of adding some biking and swimming on top of running 50-60 mpw.

Newbie Running Help

by ChunkyB on February 19th, 2008
I completed a few sprint tris last year, but for all intents and purposes (or intensive purposes, as I like to say), I'm a newbie. I am especially new to running. Whenever I run, my heart rate basically shoots sky high, and I can't even jog for more than about 2 minutes at a time. "The melting point of wax means nothing to me": Thrice

20 one leg squats for injured knee, too much?

by Rupert on February 10th, 2008
I wondering if someone can answer this question. Usually during the summer I run and do free running. Last summer I injured my left knee. At this point I fully rehabed it. My PT who is advertised as an expert in athletics, told me the following. He said I should not run again till I can do 20 one leg squats on one leg. I can't even do one. He said that it's a standard protocol after an injury.
