With my season coming to a close - how to improve for next year?

by jhudalla on August 28th, 2008
Yep, my season is quickly coming to a close. Its enough to make baby-jesus cry knowing that last year at this time (living in Las Vegas) I was just coming into my big race time of the year. Now back in MN, the sub 60-degree mornings are making it clear fall is on it's way. That and I start school again next week... booo! Weary is the path that does not challenge.

Correcting Overpronation

by chsfootballgirl on August 11th, 2008
I never used to pay attention to articles about pronation. Why? Because I didn't think I overpronate (but those are my feet up there). In fact, I tend to walk on the blades of my feet. Which made me think that I supinate.

Cascade Lakes Relay RR

by Ironmom on August 5th, 2008
This is not a triathlon race report, but it's a fun kind of race that a lot of triathletes seem to enter. If you have a relay run in your area, I highly recommend giving it a go with a team, for the experience if nothing else. Blue Skies, -Robin- http://ironmom.blogspot.com/

I know there are a good amount of you from NJ, so does anyone have any recommendations of running trails near Union County, NJ? I know there's the Watchung Reservation, and Jockey Hollow in Morris County, but does anyone know where I can find maps for specific trails in these parks or similar parks? Thanks! - AT

Hip Flexor Soreness - Overtraining? Or Paying Dues?

by J.Michael on July 24th, 2008
For the past few weeks my right hip flexor has been, well irritated. It's not always uncomfortable, or sore. It's not usually sore when I'm cycling or running. It's not always sore after running...... I don't get it. “Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.” — Winston Churchill

Running in the Heat

posted July 18, 2008 by snapdragon
After a long cold winter, and wet spring, it's finally hot in Wisconsin. Too hot. I've always had problems with heat. My body really has a hard time. My face turns purple, my stomach gets sluggish, my skin gets salty.

Running Without Water.......Sabotage?

by J.Michael on July 6th, 2008
Question for the training gurus..... I train 6-7 days a week. I try to get enough rest. I eat as healthy as possible. And I drink almost exclusively...water. (occasional sprite or mello yellow at lunch. maybe 1-2 a week.) Boss buys cases of water for the office to drink throughout the work day. “Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.” — Winston Churchill
