Building The Functional and Complete Runner

Running is a primitive movement that many people can benefit from. Unfortunately many people who enjoy running spend too much time recovering from injury and not enough time maximizing their performance. Extrinsic factors that cause people to get injured and stop running might be improper shoes, increased volume too soon and random program design. Intrinsic factors could be dysfunctional movement patterns, muscle imbalances, poor lifestyle habits, weight gain or poor running gait. Running is a great activity to build aerobic capacity, stay lean and healthy and improve your mood.

ON Cloud Racers- Review

I have been in the market for a new running shoe for a while. I liked Saucony's Kinvara line except that, as a supinator, the outside of the soles wore out faster than the rest, aggravating the problem; something they refused to address. Scrap that. Tried Brooks’ Pureflow 2s next, which I’ve been pretty happy with, but was still looking…and I hate changing shoes.

Anyway, stumbled on ON’s Cloud series and did some research, which consisted mainly or reading other’s reviews of them, and pulled the trigger on a pair.

Man Runs 2:46 Marathon In Flip Flops

I can think of a lot of things I'd rather do (in my flip flops) than this!

Man Runs 2:46 Marathon In Flip Flops

Keith Levasseur ran Saturday's Baltimore Marathon in 2:46:58 while wearing flip flops. Levasseur will file paperwork with the Guinness Book of World Records to have the feat acknowledged as a world record for a marathon in flip flops.

Ragnar relay - help me dress like a fool

Hello old friends, it's been a while. Where can I get some crazy/fun/loud running shorts or shirts? Tri shorts could work too. I ain't afraid of spandex. Gotta be funny, though. And hopefully still let me be confident with the ladies :) all in good fun.

Running in the heat

Monday run: 5 miles. Felt really really good. It was a cool evening, at about 70-75 degrees. Got home and couldn't help but brag that I ran better than I have for months, it felt effortless, and I could have gone longer. I averaged right at about 9:30 per mile.

End of race sprint - what distance?

At the end of a distance race, say 10 miles or more, at what distance should I be really putting in that final kick?

I try to run negative splits throughout the course and particularly towards the end, but uncertain when to give the final all out push. What does everyone out there do? Is there some kind of formula or generally accepted guidline, or is each individual different?
