Interesting Run Today
by zagfan on August 7th, 2009
So I'm out running on the local trail today for my long run. I'm in the middle of my tempo section of the run so my focus is on my running and not necessarily my surroundings. I come blazing (relative term) around a corner and come within 25 meters of a brown bear just chilling on the trail. I looked for bear cubs and didn't see any so I was hoping no to get eaten alive.

Triathlon workout, Bike-Run and Bike-Run again!

I used my Sunnto to track the workout and it shows the training story. The 3 red dots on the bottom is when the t6c was stopped and we transition from bike-run-bike-run.

Ok, so here goes...I've had some time off, and I'm starting to get back into training for Timberman 2009 (my first HIM), but i'm having a really hard time getting back into it...I went for a run the other day--very short, but it absolutely destroyed me.
Cheap Cycling and general fitness gear

A site called backcountryoutlet.com sponsors a number of sites that all work by offering one item at a time for a steep reduction and selling it until it's gone or they put up another one.

Morning klutziness
by groovyjen on March 25th, 2009
I've joined a tri training group and am trying to step things up a bit. Previously, if I did an AM workout at all it was swimming. For some reason I can swim semi-conscious with no issues.
But I forgot what a complete klutz I am in morning when I went for an AM run. Do you guys have this issue? Are you all morning people?

Triathlon Coach???
by fawcettenator on March 7th, 2009
I am fourteen years old, and I have been doing triathlons for a while. I am just now trying to really focus on my training and I have met a dilemma, should I get a coach?? I have an awesome swim, and an ok bike leg. So my question is should I get a coach, and if I do should they be a triathlon coach? A running coach?

To all the fat people
by callco on January 29th, 2009
My knees hurt when I run. Among the many tid bits of wisdom I've garnered from this site, the reason my knees hurt is because I am fat. (http://www.trifuel.com/forum/17382/gym-rant-revisited) Thanks for that. Some of us need a reality pill every now and then.
Running in sand?
by J.Michael on January 10th, 2009
Lately, I've been doing most of my running on the beach. 4 Tri's I did last year were beach runs and boy did I suck......
I tried running in the heat of the day to acclimatize myself. I did hill repeats to make sure I wasn't ill prepared for the 2 tris with much modulation. (Tallahassee) But the beach runs (on 5k one 10k) just kicked my butt.
