Race Report
My dad is now a triathlete!!
by derek5 on September 27th, 2009
My dad and I drove up near Seattle to a race called Black Diamond this weekend. After 2 months since he learned how to swim my 55 year old father completed a super sprint of .25 mile swim 11 mile bike and 3 mile run. It was a blast. I am proud of his accomplishment. The crazy part was the swim was his favorite part!
Are tubulars really worth it?

Today before a sprint race I pumped up my tires to 140 psi like I usually do and put my bike on the bike rack. I leave to go to the bathroom and when I come back my tire had popped not sure why and I had an hour to change it out no big deal because I brought extra tires with me. That's why I get to a race at least an hour and a half before its starts.

Preface: So this was my third attempt at an Ironman and my second this summer. To truly understand what I went through at this race I have to briefly explain some history. I did IM cda 2008 in 11:09. This is my hometown and i love that race. I attempted it again in 09' feeling MUCH stronger. Unfortunately I got a sinus infection 3 days prior.

Timberman 70.3
Lessons learned: stick to a race plan, and follow it - nothing new on race day. Break each leg of the triathlon into segments. most important: stick to a training regimen consistently!!!
Thanks from a rookie

Just a quick note to all the members of the Trifuel community.
I finished my first race (sprint) this weekend. In doing so, i learned a few things about myself, as well as my standing as a triathlete.

Decatur Triathlon Race Report - With Pics

I hadn't planed on doing this race this year, but got wind a couple months before that they'd be offering prize money for the elite wave. To the tune of $4,998 total (keeping it under the $5k cutoff that requires a pro license), split 1500/700/299. I took 3rd overall here last year and figured that I was racing a lot better and should be able to move up a place or 2.
Pacific Crest Oly
by fawcettenator on June 30th, 2009
So I did my first Oly of the season last sunday, and it was an OK performance. I didn't train the run nearly as much as I should of, and I had bad nutrition during the race. Because of both of those factors I hit a wall at the beginning of the run. Even though my race wasn't as good as I hoped I still cut 19 minutes from last year, so not too disappointing.
Tired is a state of mind, exhaustion is a state of body.
