Dreadfully low 1 min peak wattage -- should I care?
by GGehrke on February 19th, 2008
Traveling this weekend I almost finished reading the _T&Rw/aPM_ book. I was a bit disappointed that there was less Triathlon/TT specific content than I would have liked, so I'm hoping someone here might have some insight.
My peak W/kg numbers are as follows:
5sec = 15.65
1min = 5.90
5min = 4.05

Knowing your power ... what's it worth?
by burnman on February 12th, 2008
As triathletes, many of us feel compelled to sweat the small stuff during training, because - let's face it - on a long course the small stuff can be the difference between a PR and a DNF for some folks. I'll freely admit that I'm a numbers nerd. I spend hours analyzing things like my pre- and post-workout calorie intake, and my heart rate profiles from the day's training.
So..... What's your... Wattage?

While not exactly the equivalent of "Do you come here often?" I'm curious of other's wattages on the bike.
Which book? Talkin' about cycling power!

I need to learn how to train with my power meter.
I would love to hear reviews & suggestions on which to buy and which to avoid.
Thanks in advance!
Getting Started with POWER
by GGehrke on January 9th, 2008
So I bought a used PowerTap online with a Reynolds Stratus DV wheel (back only)
I'm extremely excited, but not quite sure where to begin.
I have that _Training with Power_ book on order, but Amazon is backordered - boo.
I was hoping, though, that some other power meter users could give me an idea of where to get started and get me jump started on power.
Hilly TT strategy

I'm sitting in the nuclear lab doing fuel storage neutron multiplication simulations that take forever each time I click "run", so I had nothing better to do than read technical articles on cycling. :) I can't post full articles (they're like $40 apiece), but the abstracts work just fine. They're about 100 times more useful than that crappy MIT wind-tunnel test that everyone references.
