Escape to Miami Experience?

Hi Folks:

I'm currently signed up for the Escape to Miami triathlon and I'm debating whether or not to race. Due to a busy work schedule I haven't trained as much as I'd like and the event is now four weeks plus a taper away.

Race Report: Scoggins Valley Oly distance

This was a train-through B race, no taper for this race. Goal was to nail nutrition, hydration, and pacing for HIM coming up in 3 weeks. I was camping with the kids for the whole week before the race, fitting in some lake swims, trail runs, etc.. Got home at 8:30 at night from camping, threw my gear in the car and left for the race by 4:00 in the morning. Oh yeah, had to kill a chicken at 3:00 am that the raccoons had gotten to. So much excitement in one day! Felt a little scattered by all of this and left my water bottles with Accelerade at home.

Columbia Triathlon Race Report -May 17th, 2009

The Columbia Triathlon is an Olympic distance race held in Columbia, Maryland, in between Baltimore and Washington DC. It has a pretty hilly bike course, and a very hilly run course.

My First Olympic Completed in 2:48:38!

I finished my second tri ever today and am really excited. I completed the Harriman Oly (in Harriman, NY) today in a time of 2:48:38 - or did I. I used my forerunner to track my own splits and that was the time I posted but when I crossed teh finish line it read 3:47:15. I was pretty surprised by that and, truth be told, it sort of deflated my finish a bit because I thought that did really well. I'm training for a HIM this summer and this was a B race to gauge my fitness and performance.

Harriman Olympic Tri

The day started out overcast and then quickly turned to a pretty dense fog that didn't lift ultimately canceling the swim (for the HIM too). The swim was replaced by an out and back 1.5mi run to T1.

R/R Keuka Lake Triathlon - Olympic

Short story: I went, I competed, I finished, I managed not to kill myself or anyone else. Does that officially make me a triathlete?
