Is FitDay wrong, or am I not eating enough???

by Ironmom on January 28th, 2009
I just started tracking activities and keeping a food diary on Fitday.com. Pretty consistently, I'm coming up about 500 calories short each day of what they say I'm burning. I don't feel like I'm undereating, I'm not hungry all day or anything. If I get hungry, I get a snack like yogurt with berries or something, I try to eat good whole foods, lots of fruits and veggies, protein, etc.. Blue Skies, -Robin- http://ironmom.blogspot.com/

I have been competing in triathlons for two years now -- mostly sprint distance events, and a few olympic. My typical training week consists of 1-3 miles of swimming, 30-70 miles on the bike, and 10-15 running. This combined with the other facets of my life, not the least of which is my two-year-old son, have me now feeling pretty worn out. J

With so much discussion around nutrition, and all of the expensive goodies we like to digest during our long sessions, for those who can digest solids, does anyone ever actually use trail mix? Jeff

Muscle soreness and HEADACHES!

by bikewiththeson on October 14th, 2008
I'm new to the tri/cycling world, but I'm not new to muscle soreness and headaches. I power-lift to minimize soreness from strength training, but cannot beat inflammation. Anyone have any diet/nutrition tips for fighting inflammation? I get TONS of antioxidants and alkaline water and eat 90% organic diet. Are there certain vegetables that promote inflammation? Fight inflammation?
