Wetsuit - to rent or not to rent?
by Tinparsnips on June 3rd, 2008
Hi all,
I’m participating in my first 70.3 (Ironman Kansas), it will be my second tri. I am considering renting a wetsuit. I’m looking at wetsuitrentals.com. With shipping and active.com’s BS fees it’ll cost a little over 50 bucks. I guess I have three questions/thoughts:
How are you supposed to know you can do it?

I'm doing the Timberman 70.3 in Aug. My first tri will be the Philly Olympic in June. I am really excited already, but incredibly nervous.

I'm 17 in some what decent shape, can bike around 30 miles, swim 1-1.2 miles and thats where the problem starts i can run only around 3-4 miles non stop. I'm hoping to run the chicago triathlon next year so any advice would be helpful at this point, as have no idea where to start.

I completed a few sprint tris last year, but for all intents and purposes (or intensive purposes, as I like to say), I'm a newbie. I am especially new to running. Whenever I run, my heart rate basically shoots sky high, and I can't even jog for more than about 2 minutes at a time.

Bike off of Ebay

Hi. So, I'm brand new to this forum and new to triathlons. I have not yet raced in my first triathlon, though I have been in training for 4 months now and am planning on doing my first triathlon (sprint) in May. That being said, I was training on an older, cheaper bike. A Trek Navigator 100, which is a hybrid.
Brand New to Tris...

Let me start by saying I have been reading these forums for a few weeks now and it seems like a great place for information.
I have never ran a tri and I haven't even thought about it until about two weeks ago. I run 5ks and 10k races on a regular basis and I tried out a friends road bike one sunday afternoon and nearly fell in love. It was such an amazing feeling.

A few people have expressed some interest in my blog lately, and have asked questions about my background, and I figured I'd just post here and let everyone know what my plans are for this year, as well as a little background.
