Any of you off roaders ever race an Xterra on a single speed mountain bike? I am contemplating running in an offroad Duathlon in October but I only have a single speed mountain bike. The bike leg is only 5.5, miles flanked by two 1.8 mile runs, so I don't think it will be too bad... I'll probably do it, but I am interested to whether any of you have tried it?

I'm jumping from my first MTB race and Sprint Tri into a 24 Hour race. I'll be reading threads in the Nutrition forum for tips on pre-race and race-day nutrition, but thought I'd open a quick dialogue on training.
