I know I'm chiming in here about 3 months late, but I just finally caught the NBC Kona coverage over the weekend on Universal Sports. So here's my question:

I didn't watch the live feed from Kona this year (I was doing my own race) and was reading the race summery on Slowtwitch when I read this:

This has to be one of the best sports days of the year. Not only do we have the Ironman Championship all day, but what a game at the Red River Shootout, Sox/Rays later on, LSU/Florida on tonight and then my Boise State Broncos are actually on TV! And its currently raining so there is absolutely no reason to go outside...okay, so I had to make a beer run :).

The tension and excitement in the triathlon world is beginning to build. We are a week away from the Hawaii Ironman. The World Championships of Ironman racing and a course that provides a huge challenge to any athlete lucky enough to be starting.
