ISHIGAKI – Vanessa Fernandes of Portugal and Courtney Atkinson of Australia have won the 2007 Ishigaki BG Triathlon World Cup, in Ishigaki, Japan. While Fernandes waited until the final run lap to make her decisive move, Atkinson sealed his victory in the opening minutes.

MOOLOOLABA – It was an Aussie sweep of the gold medals at the 2007 Mooloolaba BG Triathlon World Cup today as both 2006 Commonwealth Games champions Emma Snowsill and Brad Kahlefeldt were atop the podium.

MOOLOOLABA - The 2007 BG Triathlon World Cup series begins this Sunday in the coastal town of Mooloolaba, Australia. The 2007 Mooloolaba BG Triathlon World Cup will host over 150 of the world’s top triathletes as they battle for their share of the valuable Olympic qualifying points and US$100,000 prize money.

VANCOUVER - Ten coaches across Asia have received a boost from the International Triathlon Union having successfully completed the ITU Competitive Triathlon Coaching Course held last September in Beijing, China.

VANCOUVER - The Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) has announced they will induct International Triathlon Union (ITU) president, Les McDonald, into the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame during their annual gala dinner in Halifax, Nova Scotia on April 21st. McDonald is being recognized as a “Builder” for his tireless work for the Olympic sport of Triathlon.

LANGEBAAN - It was veteran Ricarda Lisk of Germany and a surprised David Hauss of France who claimed first place at the 2007 season’s first African Cup today in Langebaan, South Africa.

FLASSIN - This weekend Flassin-Saint Oyen, Italy will play host to the 2007 ITU Winter Triathlon World Championships. Hundreds of winter enthusiasts from 23 countries will visit the mountain town in the Italian Alps to represent their nation in the eleventh edition of the run, cycle and ski event.

VANCOUVER - Stellenbosch, South Africa will host an ITU Competitive Triathlon Coaching and Facilitator’s Course for a group of regional coaches from April 19th to 24th. The International Triathlon Union (ITU) and their global partner BG Group have jointly arranged the course in order to raise the number and quality of triathlon coaches across African confederation members.

VANCOUVER - Nine talented young triathletes are celebrating selection by the International Triathlon Union (ITU) to compete as a member of the Team - BG Elite Athlete Development Project (EADP) at the Mooloolaba BG Triathlon World Cup in Australia on 25 March.
