I am looking for a reasonable priced Ironman training plan. I have a ironman race (my first one) in 22 weeks. i want to compete in the race, not just complete it.

What ideas can you guys share with me?

Thanks in advance

Iron distance bicycle hydration strategy

Is it best to carry more water, or slow more for rest stop hydration bottles and refill more? What does everyone else do, and why. I personally have carried two seat bottles and a large bottle between my bars. I've always thought it best to pass water stops more frequently and fill when I was low, but of course, this is added weight. What's the best strategy? If this has already been covered somewhere, please let me know where (and how to search for it).

Ironman at 18?

I'm currently 16 and a junior in high school. I've been competing in Olympic distance races for the past three or four years, sprints at least the past five, and I recently joined a local triathlon club as well as racing cross country and track at my high school. For a few years, I've always abstractly thought that when I turned 18, I would do an Ironman, but I never seriously thought it through. I'll be turning 18 in June of 2011 and if I am going to do Canada (which is the most likely candidate) the following August, I have to sign up this year.

Question about IMNZ 2011

Hello fellow Tfers,

It has been a while since I signed on...(Every once in a while you just need to allow things to freshen up: A fair amount of topic redundancy and a wave of conflict loving new members sorta forces you to rethink how you spend your time online, haha).. but I wanted to say hello from down under. I hope your training is going well!
