overpacking the bike for Ironman

So I just finished packing for IMAZ and my inventory looks scary. I think the biggest thing is that I'm trying to over prepare for the bike and have to accept that it's a gamble.

Why isn't IM louisville sold out?

I don't get it.... All the other IMs are already sold out, or do sell out within 24hrs. Is IM Louisville Ky really that bad? terrible destination? just not sexy enough? What gives?

Roadmap to Kona

Hello all, This August, I finished my first Ironman (IMKY) in 12:59:54; now I'm hooked. Sure, maybe it sounds crazy, but I've decided I'd like to work towards qualifying for Kona before I turn 30 (5 yrs). Given that this is my long term goal, I was wondering what shorter-term objectives I should set for myself this year, especially with respect to race selection.

How many days before your IM should you plan to arrive? Assume travel to the same time zone. Is there more than one day worth of stuff you need to do...packet pick-up, transition prep, etc... That which does not kill me makes me faster...

Racing to Push Limits?

Do you folks race to push your limits? Now, I can't imagine how many endurance triathlete's race for fitness (it's probably better to do shorter distances). But for all those who race to push their limits, ironman's seem great. But, AFTER AN IRONMAN, what next? Since we race to push our limits, it would seem logical to go onto harder challenges after the ironman.

Tips or training for a sub 10 hour Ironman?

I have completed one Ironman, and would love to do another one in a year or two....the major difference being I want to do the next one in 10 Hrs or less. Any Sub 10Hr people out there have any secrets they would like to share? All of my workout results, and personal stats are being posted on a sort of web journal http://www.trainforten.vex-d.com
