am I ready?

Hi, i'm in pain because I just finished a 3:16 brick. but i'm also curious-- is a 3 hour brick (2 hrs onthe bike, 1 on the run) enough to declare myself ready for an HIM? granted...i'm leaning towards no because as soon as I finished, my right quad siezed up like none other

Training Between 2 "A" Races: How To

If I'm entered in the Rhode Island 70.3 and the Timberman 70.3, what is the best way to manage my fitness for the time in between? (RI is on 7/12 and the TIM 70.3 is 8/23) the RI is my true A in that I'll be tapering before it but I'm curious how I pick up after the RI to get ready for the TIM? Any suggestions?

My First HIM: Training Question

Right now I'm in my third week of the program and I've got this nagging feeling that I should be doing more, make that, some core training. Quickly, I ride 3 times a week (one bike-run brick), swim twice a week, and run 2-3 times a week.

A, B, C Races

I am doing my first HIM in June. I am wondering if it would be a bad idea to do either and Oly or Sprint 2 weeks before, as a C race? I am 31 and this is my 3rd year of Tri.

HIM Gear Question: Swim-to-Bike Transition

I'm prepping for a HIM and I'm wondering what do most wear under their wetsuit? Do you wear a swim brief? Basically, gear-wise, what do do you use and then what and how do you transition from that to the bike leg?

Recovery and injury prevention

Hey everyone, I ran a Half-Marathon last weekend, and the inside of my knee (I believe it is the MCL) has been hurting since the morning of the race (didn't hurt while running, only before) and has still been hurting for the past week. I've been icing it whenever I can which isn't too often, but I also want to start training.

Wetsuit HIM?

im racing my first HIM in a relatively calm lake in 3 weeks. i dont currently have a wetsuit and at this point dont plan on buying one because most of my money has gone into my bike. however, if it seems NECESSARY than i will look into it. thanks in advance for all of your input!!

Oceanside 70.3 (Stupid long)

Here is a race report from my first HIM race; the IM 70.3 CA. I had a great time, and wrote a truly long report to try and capture my experience as best I could.
