Finished my first half marathon!
by groovyjen on October 18th, 2009
Nice morning, slightly cooler than it has been recently here. Most of the course was in parks that I regularly include in my long runs, so that was nice.
After the start I really made an effort to keep my pace down. Mixed results there.
Felt pretty good for the first half. Took a gu and brief walk at the half way mark.

Had a great race today. More than just a personal best run time. I enjoyed being part of something much bigger than one person. 13.1 miles in 1:38:24.

So i completed my first half marathon today. i have never run that far (previous being about 15k). i did it with my fiance which helped me a lot because i told her that i wanted to run with her. this forced me to slow down during the beginning of the race and cruise at her speed. we finished in just over 2 hours.

Hi all,
I am running in the inaugural Rose Bowl Half Marathon in Pasadena this Saturday. I am excited about the race as the Arroyo Seco area the race is held in is very pretty and I grew up around here. It is a mix of roads and trails and should be interesting.
