Roadmap to Kona

by jws on November 16th, 2009
Hello all, This August, I finished my first Ironman (IMKY) in 12:59:54; now I'm hooked. Sure, maybe it sounds crazy, but I've decided I'd like to work towards qualifying for Kona before I turn 30 (5 yrs). Given that this is my long term goal, I was wondering what shorter-term objectives I should set for myself this year, especially with respect to race selection.

by Joe_H on June 19th, 2009
8/2 is the patriot half lyte with the silly distances of 1300m swim, 41 bike and 7.6 run but it works in best with family obligations i have in august. i worked the sprint back in the day and remember it as a pond swim, technical and hilly bike and rolling hill out and back 5k. anyone done this or doing it this year? what I'm up to: http://www.athletefocus.com/forum/sport/triathlon
