Garmin Forerunner 310xt, how accurate in the swim?
by vistring on August 19th, 2009
Hello Everybody,
I finally got to do the test on 310xt accuracy when swimming. In order to maintain a steady gps signal the watch was placed in the swim cap, instead of on the wrist. The test was performed in a matching orange speedo and cap to go with the trim on the watch. No making fun of my splits, I did it at the end of a 2 mile swim, and wasn't trying to go fast at all.
Finally, a truly waterproof GPS watch?
by thesonicson on May 9th, 2009
Don't why it's taken soooooo long. I'm sure some of you may have seen this, but finally someone has come out with a true multisport gps watch/ hrm. It's not available yet, except pre-order. Which I will be doing. It's about time we can open water swim and record our distance and times.

by orangedog on March 14th, 2009
Does anyone know if you need to drain the Forerunner 405 battery after the first charge, like some electronic devices, in order ot maximize the battery life over time?

Garmin/Chipotle 2009 season kick off in Boulder, CO
by zagfan on November 8th, 2008
Garmin/Chipotle will be kicking off the 09 season in Boulder with an event on 22 Nov, tickets $25 for general admission, or if you prefer the VIP treatment you can drop the $250. Looks like it will be a fun opportunity to go see the team up close, I'm going to try and make it up there.
You can buy tickets on the Garmin/Chipotle team site if you're interested.

just an idea
by sldotter on October 21st, 2008
Just curious... and throwing an idea out there seeing if anyone is willing... I am doing a full tri on Nov 1st and would really like to use a garmin on the run so I can get an instant pace at all times. I think it would be great to not start out too fast and pay dearly for it in the end. My question is this:

Cudos to Garmin

My Garmin FR305 decided it didnt want to power up about 1.5 weeks ago and after talking with the Garmin Tech they said to send it in for repair. My FR305 was out of warranty, $49 , brand new one. Thank you Garmin very much. My next watch upgrade will be Garmin, but not until this one stops working again.
Garmin 405 vs. 305
by theShiba on July 14th, 2008
I'm mildly interested, but this is mostly in the interest of keeping things clean, and to help out ccabrales.
What are the pros/cons of going with the 405 vs. 305? I would like something smaller, but am I going to notice a lack of features? Let's not talk about the HRM issue, since that's a given...

Has anyone out there had the chance to buy the new Garmin Forerunner 405? If so, what kind of review do you give it? I just bought one from REI.com and I'm supposed to receive it in a couple days.
Garmin Forerunner 305

Hi everyone! I've been using the Suunto T3 for the last couple years and I think it's finally starting to crap out. I've been looking at the Garmin Forerunner 305. Most of the reviews I've read have been pretty positive with exception to it's water-proofness. My question is, when not in training, are you able to use it as a normal watch?
