First Tri - Sprint: Metroman - Asbury Park, NJ
by timmo013 on July 17th, 2009
I completed my first triathlon last Sunday in Asbury Park, NJ. It was the sprint distance Metroman, put on by Sunset Racing. Weather was good. I am still riding high on the thrill of completion.
I did it
by Tri_Kev on May 31st, 2009
So despite an open water swim freak out, I did it. I can't believe I never thought about the water. I'm used to swimming at the Y with crystal clear, temperature controlled water and a line on the bottom guiding me on my way. My first stroke in the cold murky lake sent me into panic mode. Where is the closest kayaker? Who can save me when I start drowning?
First Tri - MIT Iron Nerd super sprint
by amorelli on May 2nd, 2009
Well, I'm officially a triathlete (although my training schedule of late might lead you to believe otherwise). Just got back from my first tri - the MIT Iron Nerd 2009 Super Sprint. My college, MIT, has this once a year to conclude "Wellness Week", a week supposedly promoting good health - I just like the free fruit.
I want to thank the Good Lord for making me a Yankee.

My first triathlon

I found this website a few months ago and appreciated reading everyone's stories and advice. I figured I better write up my experience in my first triathlon.
I Can Do It!
by SammyB on July 19th, 2008
This is the old (62) guy again (see my post, http://www.trifuel.com/forum/13514/is-there-hope-for-62-year-old). Finally did a run thru of the Buck Creek tri and I made it, so I guess it's a go for the real thing at the end of next month.
How are you supposed to know you can do it?
by WillbIM1Day on April 24th, 2008
I'm doing the Timberman 70.3 in Aug. My first tri will be the Philly Olympic in June. I am really excited already, but incredibly nervous.
