My only asset...

Hi there,
I'm a newbie and a bit of a nutter--which seems to be a relative term here. :-D
Is FitDay wrong, or am I not eating enough???
by Ironmom on January 28th, 2009
I just started tracking activities and keeping a food diary on Fitday.com. Pretty consistently, I'm coming up about 500 calories short each day of what they say I'm burning. I don't feel like I'm undereating, I'm not hungry all day or anything. If I get hungry, I get a snack like yogurt with berries or something, I try to eat good whole foods, lots of fruits and veggies, protein, etc..

Dieting question

Hey general nutrition experts...
I understand the concept of taking in less calories than you burn as the very general rule of weight loss, but how do you control what it is you're losing?

I am a 24 year old guy named Chris. I used to be very athletic. I played soccer and I was on swim team from age 4 to 18. I also played basketball, and I've always been a skiier, a wakeboarder, so I'd always had a number of things going to keep me in shape. I've never been the type to go workout, but nevertheless, always remained active.
Its 8pm, do you know where your calories are at?

At 5 am I was up today to drive an hour for what I thought was a 25 mile bike ride. I was feeling good, and that soon became a 40 mile ride. After, I checked my HRM and I had burned about 2000 calories. It got me thinking about the lack of or overuse of calories in peoples diets who are in training. I have a great formula that will hopefully shed some light on the subject.

Will I be this big forever?
by TryScott on February 20th, 2008
Last June (like many other June's) I decided that I would start running, again. I'm only 5'7" and I let my weight get up to 190. Luckily, this time my June running fever kept going and I did about 6 road races last summer. Bothered by tipping 190 for the first time ever, I also signed up at the pool so I could swim during my lunch hour.
All About Protein

Many of us are aware of the benefits of protein - it's ability to slow release of blood sugar, enhance muscular recovery, assist with weight loss, and perhaps most importantly, make our meals more interesting and tasty!
