Training Build up

I just began my 16 week build up to my A race in July. I took a 1 week layoff between base training and starting this to really recover nicely. So far so good, except, well, I'm a little bored with the beginning of my 16 week plan. It starts with 3 weeks of "build-up" period that has be doing essentially very short workouts to build up to relatively longer workouts. To tri or not to tri - that's not a question at all!
