Newer than New

by tizi0728 on October 17th, 2008
To say I'm new to the Tri world would be an understatement. I've just got into biking within the past few months and I love it. I want to challenge myself and try a Sprint Tri next year, and there are so many questions.

Bike Training with a Fixed Gear

by oswa0060 on October 8th, 2008
I have been away from triathlons for quite some time but I am looking at making a comeback. Over the past few years I have been spending my time getting through school and logging a few hundred miles a week on a fixed gear bike. What are all of your thoughts on using a fixed gear as a training aid for triathlons? My Ironman Journey: http://onefortypointsix.wordpress.com/ -Nick

Tri vs. Road Bike. Also, wheels?

by exitcreative on September 8th, 2008
Finished my first sprint distance triathlon this weekend. .33 mile swim, 17 bile bike, 5k run: 1:24.11... and did it on a singlespeed Specialized Langster. I set my seat forward with a reversible Bontrager seatpost and threw some Profile T2+ on the front, which afforded me a pretty decent position. I was very comfortable and averaged 20.48 MPH.

I know this topic comes up every 2 weeks...but I need some help!

Tri-Bike Fit

by zomvito on September 2nd, 2008
Hello all.. I'm a newbie triathlete just getting into the sport, but I am a hardcore kind of guy and I do things at 110%. I am an ex-competitive swimmer that finally found something I really enjoy, that being getting in the water, riding bikes after getting my first mountain bike, and I've always dabbled in running.

My new secret weapon is a 4 year old

So I took my old, heavy, quasi-mountain bike from CostCo and added one of those hitchhiker / tagalong dealies for my daughter. See the link for a close picture. http://www.target.com/Mongoose-Hitchhiker-Bike-Trailer-Silver/dp/B0019DO... Phew! Heavy bike + bike third wheel + 4 year old = quite the hills workout I think I can, I think I can, I think I can...
