Newbee strugling with cycling

Hi everyone,

So I'm pretty new to this whole tri scene. I started with a 3:9:3 a year ago, and completed a HalfIM in December 2012 which I absolutely loved!

My strength is swimming, and through training my running (which I used to despise) has come along leaps and bounds (literally!) and it's now one of my most loved parts of training. My cycling however, is terrible!!!

Tri-top question

I am returning to triathlons after a year break following the birth of my second son. I have competed in about eight sprint and olympic distance events. Swimming is my weakest leg, and I have always worn a wetsuit. This race may be too warm for a wetsuit so my question is this: should I swim in my triathon top or just put that on when I get to T1? Right now I feel faster in the water without it (not as fast a with my wetsuit). Anyone have any advice? Do people normally swim in the tri tops? Mine is a Zoot, full-zip top. Any advice would be great.

Will I finish?

Hi guys, my name is Alexander, and I am pretty new to triathlon. I started training around september last year. I train for the Ironman in Nice this year.

To start of with, I couldn't swim, I could only run 5 miles in around 45-50 minutes and I bike around 100 km in around 5 hours.

Now I train 20 hours a week.

I swim 4 km in 1 hour 20 minutes without wetsuit - in the pool.

2004 Felt F45, Like New, Need To Sell ASAP

I have a 2005, 56 cm Felt 45. My friend asked me to sell it and told me he would give half to the nonprofit organization that I work for. The bike was ridden 3 times. I know because I saw it ridden every time. It is spotless, it really might as well be new. I believe he purchased it for $1,800. I will take $900 (Negotiable) + shipping (from Denver) for it. Here are the details"

Our first Tri

Hello Tri Community,
My husband I signed up for Half-Iron man. Shamefully unprepared and embarassed we didnt even finish the 10mile TT which also happened to be our first day of training. We were planning on putting slicks on our tires until we could find a good deal on road bikes, so we druged on mountain bikes.

On my way to tri

The past two years of my life have been quite interesting with all the events life has given me. Getting hit by a drunk driver, getting injured, recovering from an injury, graduating college, a new relationship, traveling half way across the country, exploring that relationships depth, then randomly meeting trisooner , the relationship ending, coming back trying to find a job, and sorting through all that a relationship ending brings. There was one thing that I have maintained through all of that though.

Thanks from a rookie

Just a quick note to all the members of the Trifuel community.
I finished my first race (sprint) this weekend. In doing so, i learned a few things about myself, as well as my standing as a triathlete.

Me + a few questions

First of all, just wanted to introduce myself to everyone. I'm a freshman in college, formerly a member of the track team as a hurdler until I tore my hamstring in January, effectively ending my hurdling career. That, plus a combination of a few other problems led me to leave the team. I've always had an interest in triathlons (my ultimate goal, and I doubt I'm alone in this, being an ironman), so I decided to refocus myself and get back into training now that my leg's all healed up. So far I'm thoroughly enjoying it, even the swimming which is by far my weakest link.
