Question about IM Cancun 70.3
by Ironmom on October 10th, 2009
On another board, someone was saying that IM Cancun 70.3 had a 14.8 mile run course instead of 13.1 . The race website says 2 loops of a 6.6 mile mile circuit. I can't imagine why a 70.3 would change the length of the race - anyone know if that is true or not??

Amica Ironman 70.3 Rhode Island...another great race in Rhode Island.
A thunderstorm blew through the state the night before the event. The storm left behind quite a bit of wind, which did a good job rearranging the swim buoys that the race organizers placed the day before. As a result the race start was delayed 30 minutes, while boats tried to sort out the buoys.
Boise 70.3 RR

So I went back to where my triathlon career started in Boise, ID for the second running of Boise 70.3. Since my first race I've done exactly one Sprint tri, so saying I was anxious to see what a year of training can do is an understatement.

So with this race right around the corner, what is everyone doing last minute to prepare? I have missed like 50% or more of my workouts these past 2 weeks (been super busy). I hope I haven't lost my VO2 max! Its going to be a tough 4 weeks until race time for me! Is anyone getting a hotel down there night before the race? Would anyone be down for a trifuel pre race dinner?

This is not only long overdue, it's just plain long (in an epic kind of way). Feel free to skim and just look at the pics. Eventually they'll link to full-sized images, but that may not happen right away. After the race report, there's also a little narrative of some other riding we did.
