Pros:
Cushioning, comfortable, great new lacing pattern
Cons:
Soft, cushioned but no support

I rated the shoe a 3 because it is very comfortable. It is very soft though and is simply a cushioning shoe that doesn't provide a lot of support. I ended up putting 300 miles on it and then switched to another Asics model for slight motion control and my knee problem was almost instantly better. I've read elsewhere that others have complained of knee issues with this particular shoe

Pros:
This is Asics top of the line cushion shoe and it does a pretty good job. The heel/midfoot is soft.
Cons:
The earlier versions are softer, more forgiving. The forefoot cushion is slightly above average.

Overall, this is a good long distance trainer for athletes above 150-160 lbs. I am in this range so the cushion effect is less so. It is a heavy shoe with above average cushioning and work for the long haul. Not a short course shoe. If you are at this weight range and want to 'feel' more cushion then I suggest buying the asics cumulus.
