Building bicycle wheels is our passion; it’s at the root of our dedication to providing superior products to bicycle enthusiasts like you and me. Products like the Bicycle Wheel Warehouse Blackset Race SL® (1304g) 700C road wheel set. This set uses the phenomenally light weight, welded Blackset Race SL® rim, which weighs in at approximately 375g, depending on atmospheric conditions. Combined with the advanced design of the sealed bearing road hubs and DT Swiss® double butted black Revolution spokes and alloy nipples, there’s not much to dislike. If you take a close look at this rim, you will notice the aero profile (approx. 24mm x 19.5mm wide), which creates a very strong, laterally stiff rim cross section. The rim also features CNC machined sidewalls, for superior braking performance.

The sealed bearing front hub is ultra light, about 71g. The rear cassette is also exceptionally light, at 212g, and features an advanced aluminum alloy outer hub shell with a titanium inner body, for weight savings and strength. The cassette free hub body engages via a 6 pawl mechanism, (compared to the standard 4), which creates a fast, secure feel every time torque is applied through the pedals.

The front wheel is built with 24 spokes that are radially laced, the rear uses 28 spokes laced three cross on both the drive and non-drive sides, via DT Swiss double butted Revolution spokes and alloy nipples. In an effort to preserve lateral stiffness and overall wheel longevity, we resisted the temptation to build this wheel set with fewer spokes. We believe this combination of 24 in front and 28 for the rear wheel offers the best combination between weight savings and durability.

This wheel set is focused specifically for speed through the reduction of rotational weight, but does not sacrifice practicality. Please feel free to take a closer look.
