Pros:
Full of Programs and Workouts. Flexible, you can add your existing workout sheets Easy to use Access to an respected coach via the Online Forum No monthly payments!!
Cons:
No device upload functions (if you need that) Does not work on a Mac (unless windows is installed)

I have been using eRacePlanner for a couple of months now, I was unsure about buying it as I had never heard of the company or the coach before. However, a couple of emails to their support team gave me the confidence to buy it.

As with any software product, there was a bit of a learning curve but the help files and online demos are easy to follow.

I added some of the swim and indoor bike workouts that I have collected over the years, this is a nice feature!

It took me a couple of hours to plan my season, with the help of the coach forum. The Aussie coach behind this software, Kevin Cutjar, has a ‘no nonsense’ approach to training and this is reflected in the programs and the software. I really like the fact that I can ‘fine tune’ my week to suit my schedule and then print it off, having a structure seems to give the kick I need to get out the door (especially in the winter!!).

For me, this is a great tool. It doesn’t have the ‘bells and whistles’ offered by some of the online companies, but I have no interest in analyzing every aspect of my ‘device’ downloads, I just need a structured plan that is flexible.

For the money this is a great tool and having access to a ‘Coach’ for the odd question will be nice as my season unfolds.

I have been racing for a couple of years, mainly Olympic and Half Ironman distance and have seen little improvement; every time I read something or talk to someone I change my training. Now I can just follow a plan written by someone with years of coaching and racing experience, I can already see by the workouts and structure of my season where I was going wrong.

If you are into analyzing every aspect of each workout then this software may not be for you. It’s very much about planning your season to maximize the benefit of your training.

The software itself is simple to use, once you have your season planned it’s really easy to edit it to fit in with your other commitments. For $149, I have a tool I can use for years to come.
