One of my Fav tools. It's little big and sometimes takes a long time finding satellites (I run in NYC). But on the whole is an indispensable tool. I am going to upgrade to the 405 which is much smaller.
I am a numbers junkie. I like to track everything. Not necessarily info i can use, but track it anyway. Maybe someone can use it to help me. The 305 and accompanying software make that all possible.
This thing with Sporttracks makes a great combo. I have used the 305 since 2006.
If you like the 305, check out the Garmin Forerunner 405 Heart Rate Monitor Watch!
Anybody actually use it in an ironman race? If so what is your opinion on performance, functionality, etc Also did you use it in the swim (i've heard of triathletes stashing it in their swim cap for the 3,8km sprint).

Happy Shopping
I've been using mine for running and surfing. I've never been to sure if I actually get an accurate heartrate reading when I'm in the water though? I don't know if others have had luck with this? I bought secondhand much cheaper than the price above from the selection of waterproof gps systems at supmagic.com
