Jhimy on the left trained with Mentor Alison on the right. Jhimy skipped a few ocean swims, but was in the pool. It got to race day and we (coaches) were concerned. We wanted him to get through the race. He had no stroke and was lucky to keep the head in the water. Race day he did it! He had determination, will and his team in him.

Jhimy is due to back to Iraq! All he wanted to do from the info meeting on was learn to swim. After race party, we had him back in the water and sneaking into the pool at the Marriott to swim with a small group of teammates!
