  • past - Good that I ran 40 miles 2 weeks ago, which is the most I've every done in a week. Bad that I wanted one more high volume week before my taper week, but kept finding reasons to not run.  Result is that I'm sore and tired somehow, but have nothing to show for.
  • future - Not looking good that my 3rd triathlon of the year is 6 days away. Not only will it be on a borrowed bike with no aerobars and no clip in pedals, but in the last 6 weeks I have done less than 2km of swimming, and less than 100m of riding.  I better have a blast,  because my time is gonna suck.
  • legs - Sore, despite running very low miles last week, no weights, and no speedwork. Only guess  is from playing my 11 year old cousin in tennis.
  • arms - Sore from doing one set of pullups.  I need to do weights 2 or 3 x per week.
  • head - Bummed that I'm not ready for my race and I miss my daughter and wife. Glad that I get to race and see my daughter and wife in a few days.
  • planning - 10 weeks until the Florida Challenge Triathlon. Tenativly my first 70.3, although I haven't even signed up yet.  Can I get enough biking fitness to go 56 miles, then run 13.1 miles?  Over the last 6 weeks I've averaged 14 miles per week on the bike. Ouch!
  • motivation - Lacking seriously when it comes to saddle time. Maybe signing up for the 70.3 will excite or scare me to the bike. Either way, I'll be on the bike.
  • Boston - Unlikely that I can run a 7:15/mi marathon pace by this winter if I can barely hold that pace for 10k now. I'm still going to try. Screw setting goals that I know I can achive.

I'm with you on Boston. Whats the sense of goals if they come easy?!
