Hotbama
Moved to southern Alabama over last weekend. The commute to my new job is 60 miles longer than my commute in Ohio was. Needless to say, my days are much shorter, and I'm going to struggle a bit to find training hours. The good news is that I love the job.
There's very little hills where I live in Ohio, and not many where I'm going either. So Sunday morning I was determined to find some hills to ride when I woke up in the hotel. It ended up being the worlds shortest bike workout. 15 min, and between 4 and 5 miles. It hurt. I figure it will just be easier to do races without hills.
This morning was my first group run, unless you count high school cross country 12 yeas ago. Must of been 30-40 people there, and it was a really nice group. As a nice bonus to the running help, I found out that one of the ladies there gives swim stroke lessons. Talk about a reality check to see what type of shape I'm in. My mindset was that if I had to, I'd be able to run a 42 min 10k. Turns out I can't. The Garmin hasn't been plugged in yet, but I think my run ended up being 6 miles in 44 min.
I'm pretty sure I want to use the marathon training plan from RunBayou, but I'm not sure what VDOT to base my paces off of, what marathon I want to do, or when I want to do one. Tough to make a training plan without knowing that stuff.
