This is actually Kona Day 4 or 5 but just wanted to say congratulations on a good performance. I followed you and others throughout and you appeared quite consistent in your effort. And, it appears you were 166th or something near that overall..that is amazing. I am so impressed with your performance I sort of expected you to win something in the age group but that was a tough bunch...sounds like you not only had a great race but a great experience to relish the rest of your life.

Well, this is it. Day before the race. Had a great time at the Welcome Dinner last night and got home to bed before 9:00pm. I met Paula-Newbie, she was super cool! Slept in until 6:15, so I definately got my most important rest in. Woke up this morning to see my wife and made and M-Dot in white stones out on the lava rock below our balconey and we went out and took some pics with it!
We got our swim gear together and headed back down to the Pier for one more swim in the Bay. I swam out to the Coffee's of Hawaii boat agin and Gordo was there! I said hello and reminded him we had met at the Lake Havasu Triathlon in late March. He remebered our conversation where I mentioned I was going to iMAZ to try and Kona qualify and here I am! He was so psyched for me, it was very cool. Then I swam further out to the next to last marker. The water was great, I felt awesome, found some feet to draft off of for a while for practice. It's so easy to draft here as the water is so clear. We met up with a bunch of friends down there, it was really special.
Now we are back at the condo, I have my gear bags packed up, bike ready for a 2:30pm drop off, then back here to chill and have dinner. I'm ready......
