Week off just before a race...
I wouldn't worry about it...you'll be active with scuba and when you get back, just get in a few short runs to get the road legs back...if you've trained properly for the half...there really is nothing more you can do to improve and really hitting it hard when you're back on dry land could cause problems....again. Go short and easy with some pick ups and a little race pace stuff when you get back in port.

With 2 weeks out you should be tapering anyway. There's really nothing more you can do to benefit yourself on race day. There is, as often mentioned here, alot you can do to hurt yourself.
Don't be tempted by a long run when you get back, keep it to a 30-40 minute easy run on Thursday, with Friday rest and maybe a 15-20 minute slow, slow run on Satuday just to get the blood flowing in your legs.
Watch what you eat, you'll be burning fewer calories not running. Most importantly, don't worry. If you followed your training plan you'll do great on race day.
Enjoy your vacation.

I don't need to get faster, I just need to get older!
Thanks for the tips guys!!!
If you can take a water running belt with you, maybe give that a go while you're on the boat?!

Here's the scoop, on the 21st I am running a half marathon (Detroit Free Press Marathon), tommorow I leave for San Diego and Saturday I get on a boat to go scuba diving for 5 days that does not have a track or treadmill. I'll be back in San Diego on Wed of next week and then I have Wed-Sun to get ready. Any tips on how to maximize the time I have with the time off in the middle?
