Bryan,
I am in Kona now and the weather is great. The heat and humidity don't seem as bad as I remember in the past.
I took my last longish ride out to Wakiloa and back to ride those stair steppers from 80 miles out into the wind and just to refresh my memory. It really wasn't that bad.
It sounds like you are screaming fit.
There are plenty of folks out here already and the traffic hasn't started to jam up yet. It will be hopping when you get here though.
Nice final longish ride....... You are ready Dude ; )
Thanks Rob, see you in a few!

So it's Saturday afternoon and I had an AWESOME ride this morning on my race set up, pictured below. 64 miles at 23.5 mph with 2480 feet of climbing. The 404's are just so light, I noticed it immediately. It was a great confidence builder.
We leave on Wed. early. As it is still very warm here, warmer than Kona actually, I decided to I would rather be home and relaxing as much as possible and leave more vacation days for after the race. I'm taking my much deserving wife to Maui for 5 days after the race.
Then my buddy Eric came over to help me break down the Saber in pack her up. I have my mothers old bike box, which she has had since the '80's! This sucker has been all over the world, and twice to the Big Island. I get to make it number three!
I also decided I may need some inspiration on the run, so I decorated my run gel flask with reminders as to why I was there....
And finally, my beatiful wife went to get a pedicure and wanted to joing into the spirit of the wee kto come!
