"Break in" time for a new saddle??
I actually just switched to a toupe from a Selle Italia SLR Gel. Less padding on the toupe so the sit bones ached a little after the first ride but that's to be expected.
How does it feel different? Pressure in different areas should feel better with a little more time on the saddle. If you're having issues with friction or the width of the saddle, you may have to try something else.
so i just recently (last week) swapped my Specialized Toupe saddle for the Fizik Arione Tri II. i liked the Toupe, but the short nose didn't allow me to ride forward enough.the Fizik feels so different; i'm not sure if i like it or not. will it take some time to break it in???
i know saddles are pretty specific to each rider, but i'd like some general feedback.
thx.
A couple years back I switched to the Tri-Arione. I didn't need any break in time at all with it. Tho I went through 2 or 3 other saddles prior to originally finding one that was so comfortable (for me). I just switched to the Arione Tri2 Carbon Braided - I swapped it out about a week before IMWI - It did take a ride where I continually stopped to make fine adjustments to dial it in when I first put it on. It is a great saddle for me.
Unfortunately what works for one doesn't necessarily work for another.

the Toupe "craddled" my seat; the Fizik is flat, so the jewels are bunched up...sorry; best way to describe it.
